1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using YourCityEvents ("Platform", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use our Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, event organizers, and staff.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and current information when registering.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Ticket Purchases
- All ticket sales are final unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled by the organizer.
- Prices displayed are in the currency shown. Service fees are included in the total before checkout.
- QR codes on tickets are unique and single-use. Do not share your QR code with others.
- Tickets are non-transferable unless the organizer has enabled the transfer feature for that event.
- We are not responsible for tickets purchased from third-party resellers outside our platform.
4. Refunds and Cancellations
- Event cancellation: If an organizer cancels an event, you are entitled to a full refund.
- Event rescheduling: If an event is rescheduled, refund eligibility is determined by the organizer's policy.
- Buyer-initiated refunds: Refund requests are subject to the organizer's refund policy. Submit requests via your order history within the stated window.
- Service fees: Service fees are generally non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organizer.
- We act as a facilitator between buyers and organizers and are not liable for organizer refund decisions.
5. Event Organizers
If you use our platform as an event organizer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate event details and honour all published event information.
- Comply with all applicable laws, venue regulations, and local authority requirements.
- Process approved refund requests in a timely manner.
- Not list fraudulent, illegal, or misleading events.
- Accept that YourCityEvents retains a platform fee as disclosed at the time of event creation.
- Ensure your event has all required permits, licences, and insurance.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Resell tickets above the organizer's stated price cap (where applicable).
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to purchase tickets or access our systems.
- Attempt to bypass or circumvent ticket access controls or QR security.
- Impersonate other users, organizers, or YourCityEvents staff.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or illegal content.
- Engage in fraudulent chargebacks or payment disputes without legitimate grounds.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, organizers, or staff.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on YourCityEvents — including the logo, design, software, and text — is owned by or licensed to us. Event content (images, descriptions) remains the property of the respective organizers. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- We are a marketplace platform connecting buyers with event organizers. We are not the organizer of events listed on our platform.
- We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any event.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant ticket(s).
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or, where arbitration is not permitted, in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
10. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will provide at least 14 days' notice for material changes via email.
